We know attending a church can be an intimidating thing, so to help calm any nerves here are some questions we get asked frequently:

What should I wear to a morning service?

We've all experienced churches where they say, "come as you are" or "wear whatever you are comfortable in" and upon arriving you realize that really meant a suit and tie. Here we have men who wear jeans and some who wear dress pants. We have women who wear dresses and some who wear ____. We have men who wear dress shirts and some who wear t-shirts. We have people who wear dress shoes and some who wear sandals. We have people who spent a lot of time on their hair and some who styled their hair by taking their hat off before sitting down. We hope that you would wear what you are comfortable in because that is what we are wearing.

What type of music do you use in your morning service?

We play a combination of songs; they're not all hymns and they're not all new songs. Our goal for the songs we sing is that they are Biblical, glorify God, remind us what Christ has done, nurture our faith, and inspire our praise of God through the week.

Is there a nursery available?

Yes! Here is a picture of our nursery:

What can I expect during a service?

During our service we worship God through music, hearing His Word, supporting various ministries, and fellowship with other believers. Our services usually last around an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.

What is a Christian Reformed Church (CRC)?

The Christian Reformed Church is a protestant denomination which was began by Dutch immigrants in 1857 and is theologically Calvinist.

The CRC website has more information regarding our history and our beliefs

Why is this church out in the middle of farming country?

The Alamosa Christian Reformed Church was founded in 1904 and came about through a Dutch migration to the San Luis Valley due to it's "so-called" rich farmland. The church was built in it's location as the epicenter to the farms which were started. There was even a school and a general store out in this area as well!
